Whilst there is rarely surf here it is actually where on of the best known surf photos in Cornwall was taken. On the right day the swell hits the harbour wall causing backwash and a wedge to form. The photo mentioned was by the very talented, late Jacob Cockle and shows a bodyboarder at the foot of a huge backwash wave exploding about 50ft in the air behind.
