Whilst being one of the prettiest fishing villages in Cornwall, Mousehole is not well known for its beaches. However, there are two beaches here - a pebbly/rocky beach with a small pool on the Newlyn side of town, in front of the Old Coastguard Hotel, and a wonderfully sandy little beach inside the famous harbour.
Mousehole's harbour beach is actually one of the best family beaches around. The little sun-trap sits within the sturdy granite piers there is never more than a ripple here, plus the water is very clean considering this is a working harbour. Backed by the village there is no shortage of food and drink options, and there are toilets at either end.
The harbour beach consists of two areas of sand which you can easily walk between on lower tides. In case you are wondering why the beaches here are so beautifully sandy, it's actually shipped in.
The rocky section of coast just to the north of Mousehole is home to a small tidal bathing pool as well as a number of rock pools.
