Pentle Bay
- info
- weather & tides
Located on the sheltered eastern coast of the island of Tresco is yet another Scillonian beauty. This stretch of bone-white sand with its turquoise waters has not escaped the eye of the world's media. Publications such as the Wall Street Journal, Telegraph and Conde Naste have all cited Pentle Bay as one of the finest beaches anywhere. Then again, maybe they haven't explored the rest of the Scilly Isles!
You would imagine that with such accolades the beach here would be somewhat busy, however this is not the case. Even in the height of summer you may be lucky enough to have the beach to yourself.
Backed by low sand dunes the view out over the azure ocean is towards the Eastern Isles, a collection of granite islets with names such as Little Ganilly and Great Arthur.
