Porth Arlo Beach
- info
- weather & tides
Tucked away behind the granite quay of St Mary's harbour, you could say Porth Arlo is hidden in plain sight. This sheltered little stretch of sand is mostly overlooked as it is barely visible from the quayside.
The other thing that keeps the beach quiet is the lack of any real access. to get onto the sand you have to climb down the wall.
Anywhere except the Scilly Isles it would definitely be worth the scramble down to to the beach, however, given there are any number of lovely sandy beaches which never really get busy most people won't make the effort.

Feb 10th 2023Beach is a little tricky to get down to - basically you jump off a wall! Always empty, despite being next to the busiest part of the Scilly Isles.
Good spot for finding sea glass. Don’t know if that is anything to do with the pub next door!
