Harlyn Bay

Harlyn is known for being a great family beach. Located in the lee of Trevose head and with a northerly aspect it is slightly more sheltered than some of its west facing neighbours.
The wide crescent of yellow sand provides plenty of space and the waters here are generally safe for swimming during summer months, when there is lifeguard cover. There's lots to keep kids occupied too with rock pools, sand dunes and a small stream.
Type of beach
Sandy
Lifeguard service
RNLI lifeguard summer cover (5 May - 30 September), Easter bank holiday and weekends during April
Dogs friendly beach?
Dogs allowed all year
Harlyn Bay Reviews
Too crowded in summer
Saw lots of lovely reviews so we were keen to go. What a disappointment. Beach is too small at anything other than low tide for the hundreds of families and dogs. Would never go again in summer. Holywell beach knocks harlyn out of the water every day of the week.
Best beach in the uk

Jun 15th 2019This is by far our favourite beach , it’s beautiful as are the other beaches on this part of the Cornish coast
Also dog friendly.
Note for dog owners
The one true man
Jun 13th 2019You may want to keep dogs on a lead, ours was attacked by a lose dog. Also the roads are narrow which people bomb down in their overpriced, ostentatious Land/Range Rovers, inconsiderate of human life. We were nearly killed by some idiot who looked like Richard Branson (club 33) who just smiled at us. If you want some stress, get yourself down!
