Another of the sandy coves that make up the 4 mile expanse of Whitsand Bay. Located near the middle of the bay, Sharrow Beach is easier to get too than neighbouring Freathy so is often a more popular choice. That said it is still something of a climb up and down to the beach.

At low tide there is a good expanse of beautiful, golden sand here which joins up with the neighbouring coves. However, as the tide pushes in Sharrow becomes its own cosy little cove, with only a small area of sand.

Sharrow is sometimes referred to as Grotto Beach which comes from the small cave excavated in the cliffs by a local hermit known as "Lugger" back in the 1870s.

On the point between Sharrow and Freathy is a lifeguard lookout, and while the service is only seasonal there is safety equipment here year-round. Swimming here is only advised when the lifeguard is on duty as Whitsand Bay has something of a reputation for dangerous currents.
