On a good sized swell Benoath can produce some good waves. It has the advantage of being north facing meaning it is still offshore in the prevailing southwesterly winds.
Given the right conditions an a low tide the beach is renown for its fast, hollow waves - which are generally only suitable for more experienced surfers.
