Large (2km long) pebbley beach with lots of sand at lower tides when it connects up with other Bude beaches.There are lots of interesting rock formations and pools along the length of the beach. Along with clean water Sandy Mouth is a good family beach.
directions: Route is fairly well signposted from the A39.
Take the A39 from Wadebridge or Camelford. Shortly before Kilkhampton turn left and follow this road through Stibb and shortly after Stibb turn left for Sandy.

parking: National trust car park a couple of minutes walk from the beach down a moderately steep stony track
Surfing at Sandy Mouth Beach
Best at low to mid on a pushing tide as high tide breaks over the rocks.
Peaks are to be found along its length but it is very exposed to wind so Easterlies or light winds are the go.
Being West facing gets lots of swell and it is a good alternative to escape summer crowds in Bude.
Suitasble for beginners at low to mid tide and in smaller conditions but bigger swells create strong rips.
