PerranporthPerranporth’s miles of golden sands have always attracted surfers and sunbathers. For those who are a little more adventurous, there are caves to explore and interesting rock formations to investigate.
A recent addition to the resort is the giant cliff top Millenium Sundial. But beware, if you are thinking of setting your watch by it! It tells Cornish time which is 20 minutes ahead of GMT.

This is Poldark Country and there are lots of old engine houses from the former tin mines. In addition, there is Wheal Towan, the remains of an eighteenth century copper mine. The Perranzabuloe Folk Museum in Oddfellows Hall may be worth a visit.

Perranporth holds the Lowender Peran Folk Festival each October, and the Bolingey September Fayre.

Nearby St Agnes Head is a great spot for watching the various sea birds and for an occasional glimpse of a grey seal. And a climb up to St Agnes Beacon will be rewarded with a view from coast to coast. Other neighbouring resorts are Portrtowan and Holywell Bay, formerly the home of W.J.Burley, the creator of Cornish detective, Wycliffe.
