Kingsand Beach

Kingsand Beach
Last updated:

In the small Cornish fishing village of Kingsand on the remote Rame Peninsula is the pleasant little Kingsand Beach. Consisting mainly of sand and shingle this south east facing beach backs right onto the village and is home to the iconic seafront Kingsand clocktower. Built to commemorate the coronation of King George V, the clocktower was almost destoryed by the winter storms of 2014.

The beach at Kingsand overlooks Plymouth Sound and has fantastic views of the ships coming and going. Like neighbouring Cawsand beach, it is a sheltered beach that reveals some good rock pools at low tide. This means it's a popular beach with families with the additional bonus of there being plenty of pubs around the beach too!
